AAALAC ACCREDITATION

...AAALAC International accreditation is a commitment to meet standards higher than what's required by law. Participation in AAALAC is completely voluntary, and offers those who choose to participate a tangible way to demonstrate that they have a program that satisfies more than minimum regulatory requirements.

The Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care, International, (AAALAC), is a non-profit organization that accredits animal facilities. Institutions participate in the AAALAC accreditation program by voluntarily submitting to AAALAC site visits every three years. AAALAC uses the USDA AWA regulations as well as PHS guidelines, plus other reference documents for evaluations (Click here for AAALAC's other Reference Resources). If an institution meets all applicable standards, then it is awarded AAALAC accreditation, a valuable symbol of institutional commitment to quality care and use of animals.

Participation in the AAALAC accreditation program is strictly voluntary. However, AAALAC accreditation has now become an accepted standard for quality animal research programs.

We can direct you from the very onset of your Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International accreditation process by reviewing your current animal program and the formation of a well-written and highly organized Program Description. We also assist with the Site Visit preparation, the actual Site Visit, and with the Post Site Visit Communication. As of date, we have had 100% success rate on obtaining AAALAC Full Accreditation status on the first attempt for every client.
